In PISA 2012, the mathematic literacy of 15-year-old students will again be the major focus of the assessment. Problem Solving will be another core competence tested in the 5th survey of PISA. Reading and science will again be minor domains this time. For the first time, Problem Solving will uniquely be assessed through a computer based method of testing.
This way, the results of the 5th PISA study will show to what extent the changes that have been initiated within the German educational system in the aftermath of the 2003 study and the implemented government programs can be revealed. Moreover, this analysis will show important findings about the conditions of how competences are developed and gained.
